Gordian Case
The case and the phone were both modeled in Solidworks. The goal of the project was to model a phone from the factory schematics with enough accuracy that the 3D printed case would fit an actual phone.
Design Direction
This project was mostly about modeling accuracy in Solidworks but I did spend some time on the concept/direction of the design. I wanted to make a case that was both professional but also showed the user's personality.
Concept for the Case
My target audience are people who live colorful but passion-driven lives. People who have professional goals but also cater new hobbies that give them an extra sparkle. From my target audience, I decided that I wanted to create a case that would perfectly mix a professional aesthetic with a personal flare. Not a black otter box that a middle-aged CEO would use, but also not a pink sparkly unicorn case that someone who has never used the term business casual would have. Somewhere in the middle, that house skillful go-getters and curious passion followers.
